Midcentury architect Max Bill designed this for Germany watch powerhouse Junghans, and if there were ever a watch that obeyed the old Bauhaus tenet of "form follows function," we think this would be it. It's clean, minimal, and by the way, the performance is great — everyone knows that German engineering is top-notch. It's a pretty perfect marriage, and it makes for a less sporty take on a chronoscope… one you can wear with a suit. And it's always cool to be able to tell time from the side... since the glass is domed, you don't have to stare at the face straight-on to read it. It's a little more polite that way.
