The Tyrolean shape splits the difference really nicely between a tailored jacket and a more rugged piece of outerwear, and — believe it or not — the fit was ten years in the making. The loden wool used for this one also hails from Austria, developed centuries ago as a fabric designed to keep the mountain people warm, dry, and comfortable in harsh weather. The mill that makes it has been operating since the 19th century so they know a thing or two about heritage textiles.
