This is a more streamlined version of our classic flat-front dress trouser, still cut on the slimmer side, but with elasticized tabs at the sides instead of belt loops. (There's a trademarked term for this that rhymes with “tax” — you know the one — but the most important thing to know is that you don't need to wear a belt. One less thing to worry about.) The solaro fabric for this pair is one of those IYKYK things: a cult textile inspired by turn-of-the-century Western colonists in the tropics. It turns out that the native tribes there didn't really wear clothes with red linings to protect their skin from the sun — that's a myth — but it's a myth that yielded a pretty cool cloth. The warp yarns are red, which gives it an iridescent, chameleon-like finish, especially in the sun. We love it so much we used it for a matching jacket, so you can wear both pieces together as a full suit. Each pair is made with horn buttons, on-seam pockets, end-on-end pocketing, a split-back waist with our signature green bartack, and a 37.5" unfinished inseam that's ready to tailor to your perfect length.
