Talk about vintage-inspired — in 1971, it was like, don't even come to school if you don't have a CPO shirt. The idea is a little older than that, even (it's modeled after the jackets issued to chief petty officers at sea), but updated for a fully modern, more wearable look. This one is made from Harris Tweed, which is a super-special heritage textile from the Outer Hebrides that's by definition hand-woven on a treadle loom in the weaver's own home. (It's regulated by Scottish law.) Only a select few craftsmen are certified for this, and most come from families that have been weaving for generations. Casual shirt, special cloth.
