Clift Straight Leg Jean Italian Stretch Selvedge Rigid Denim

These jeans are made of 13.75oz Italian selvedge denim with just a touch of stretch. This kind of denim is woven on a more traditional shuttle loom to create a self-edged cloth (hence the name) and the slower weaving process creates a fabric with a more personal, relaxed hand. Which is exactly what it does on the body. If you're new to selvedge, don't be put off by the initial stiffness — it'll soften up and fade over time, leaving you with a pair of jeans that molds organically to your wear patterns. And especially if you can hold off on washing them for awhile, they'll wear in and become as unique to you as your fingerprints. The fit is our Clift silhouette: an easier-fitting five-pocket jean named for Montgomery Clift, one of the first to popularize denim for the everyman. Just like our Slim Straights, the shape riffs on two longtime favorite jeans — think slightly more tapered Levi's 501®s and a slightly higher-rise APC New Standards — but this time with extra room all around for guys with a bit more natural ballast. (There's even enough space at the leg openings to fit over a pair of cowboy boots.)
