Junghans
Max Bill Automatic Watch 27/4002.46
Midcentury architect Max Bill designed this for Germany watch powerhouse Junghans, and if there were ever a watch that obeyed the old Bauhaus tenet of "form follows function," we think this would be it. It's clean, minimal, and by the way, the performance is great — everyone knows that German engineering is top-notch. It's a pretty perfect marriage. The profile is slim (it's just 10mm thick) and it's always cool to be able to tell time from the side... since the glass is domed, you don't have to stare at the face straight-on to read it. It's a little more polite that way.
