Chore jackets originated in 19th-century France as garments to wear while knocking out day-to-day work (hence the name). We haven’t strayed too far from the original — simple shape, clean patch pockets at the front, an easy fit through the body — but we've taken it up a notch with corozo buttons and elevated fabric. This one is made from a super-traditional hickory-striped denim from Portugal and layers beautifully over more pattern. Have a little fun with it.

“You can take it super casual on weekends, and it’ll make even a solid tee and jeans feel like an outfit. For a workday, layer it over a shirt with a collar. Even just a polo can be cool. And of course, I’m always gonna recommend treating it like a real sport coat and wearing it over a spread collar woven shirt, with or without a tie. The addition of one more piece pulls you together.”
