This is our take on a classic Type II-style jean jacket, with the same boxy fit, shorter length, and pleated front placket of the original. Think Martin Sheen in Badlands (well, from a style perspective only) and you're there. This selvedge in particular comes from Italy, where it's woven on traditional shuttle looms at one of our favorite mills with a rich history of denim production. The undyed fabric retains small flecks of cotton seed throughout, giving it a subtly textured, organic look that sets it apart from traditional indigo denim. Like all selvedge, the slower weaving process creates a fabric with a more personal, relaxed hand. If you're new to selvedge, don't be put off by the initial stiffness — it'll soften up over time, leaving you with a jacket that molds organically to your wear patterns.
