Slim Straight Jean Japanese Selvedge Deep Indigo Denim
These jeans are made of raw selvedge from a Japanese mill that produces half the country's denim... they've been in business for over a century so it's safe to say they know what they're doing. This kind of denim is woven on a more traditional shuttle loom to create a self-edged cloth (hence the name) and the slower weaving process creates a fabric with a more personal, relaxed hand. Which is exactly what it does on the body. If you're new to selvedge, don't be put off by the initial stiffness — it'll soften up and fade over time, leaving you with a pair of jeans that molds organically to your wear patterns. And especially if you can hold off on washing them for awhile, they'll wear in and become as unique to you as your fingerprints. Just like all of our 5-pockets, the shape riffs on two other longtime favorites: think Levi's 501®s with more taper, APC New Standards with more room in the rise, and slimmer than both from the knee down. They're made with blue oxford pocketing, a button fly, brass rivets, chain-stitched hems, and clean, unbranded back pockets.
