Spread Collar Sport Shirt Blue Cotolino Chambray

One of our favorite sport shirts since day one, in an indigo-dyed chambray that's made with almost equal parts linen and cotton. There's a refined slubbiness to it that reminds us a little of old-school indigo handwovens, but the coolest thing is that it gets better the more you wear it. The blue gets lighter, the finish gets softer, and the dye kinda pools in the seams and corners. It's incredible. It's got a modified spread collar with lightweight, nonfused interlining for a soft, relaxed look. As always, the cut is slim but never skinny, with a high armhole for mobility and a long-enough-to-stay-tucked-in shirttail. (Sid likes it this way, but it's easy to shorten if you prefer.) It's made with single-needle stitching, 22 stitches/inch, flat-felled seams, and thick, 3.5mm Trocas shell buttons.

TRUE BLUE

With any true indigo fabric, there’s a risk of color transfer, where a little blue makes its way to light-colored fabrics or your skin. This is called crocking, and it usually comes out in the washing machine or the shower, respectively! Inherent to natural indigo dye, it’s part of what makes those garments fade so beautifully. Still, for the first few wears, we recommend laundering separately and staying away from light-colored upholstery.
