Trudon is the world's oldest candlemaker still in business. From the rich fragrances to the gilded plaques on the front, and even the deo regique laborant motto ("[the bees] work for God and the King"), everything about the brand is luxurious. This collection swaps out the classic green glass housing for milky, translucent stone. Each container and matching top is sculpted in Spain from a single block of alabaster — the natural veining means every piece is unique — which surrounds the flame to create a beautiful halo of light as it burns. Oh, and it smells great, too. Abd el Kader is a fresh green scent that draws on Moroccan mint tea, with head notes of spearmint and ginger and clove, and a heart of jasmine.
Pro tip: the first time you light a candle, let it burn for 2-3 hours, or until the whole surface is liquid. Wax has muscle memory, and this trains it to burn evenly and last as long as possible. You'll also want to get in the habit of trimming the wick to 1/4" before lighting to prevent tunneling and excessive smoking.
