These are made right down the road from our agents in Tuscany and known as the gold standard of biscotti throughout the country. The Antonio Mattei factory has been operating since 1858 and run by the same family since 1904, making these super-simple biscuit cookies with only wheat flour, sugar, free-range eggs, almonds, and pine nuts. They're delicious enough that we've been stocking up on every trip to Italy for years. The original almond variety is actually known as cantuccini and traditionally served with vinsanto dessert wine, but you can do your own thing. Dip them in coffee, break out a bag for snack hour in the office, eat them for a fun holiday breakfast. And they typically come in a beautiful, iconic bright blue bag — when we say 'iconic' we mean that Blu Mattei is a registered and trademarked color — but we decided this tin was a perfect packable (and even wrappable) option.
