Trudon is the world's oldest candlemaker still in business. From the champagne-bucket-inspired glass housing to the gilded plaque on the front, and even the deo regique laborant motto ("[the bees] work for God and the King"), everything about the brand is luxurious. Versailles is a scent named for France's legendary royal gardens, with green and floral notes. It's housed in azure glass to evoke the sky blue of a fresco. A really special gift.

PRO TIPS FOR BURNING CANDLES
The first time you light a candle, let it burn for 2-3 hours, or until the whole surface is liquid. Wax has muscle memory, and this trains it to burn evenly and last as long as possible. You'll also want to get in the habit of trimming the wick to 1/4" before lighting to prevent tunneling and excessive smoking.
