Full disclosure, Matt is a friend of ours. But even if he weren't, we'd still call this a pretty great investment book. Matt got his start on Wall Street, like most guys in finance, but quickly figured out that the traditional, individual-stocks model was stacked against him... and everyone, really. He went on a winding journey — one that includes white-collar thugs, life-threatening illness, and a very fateful dinner at The Cheesecake Factory next to Caesar's Palace — to develop an approach he calls ‘evidence-based investing’ that better serves the long-term interests of investors. He's a great storyteller, and the book is more of a memoir than a how-to, but there's plenty of knowledge in here, too, whether you're an amateur or a finance nerd.
